The Appanoose County Civil Service Commission will be testing for the position of Deputy Sheriff on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 9:00am. Download application and information here.

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen and resident of Iowa.

  2. Be 18 years of age at time of appointment.

  3. Hold a Valid Iowa Driver's License.

  4. Not be addicted to drugs or alcohol and pass drug testing.

  5. Is of good moral character as determined by a fingerprint search conducted of local, state and national fingerprint files and have not been convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude.

  6. Be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate.

  7. Pass a psychological evaluation test.

  8. Pass a cognitive test.

  9. Has an uncorrected vision of not less than 20/100 in both eyes, corrected to 20/20. Has a color vision test indicated that the applicant has color vision anilities consistent with the occupational demands of law enforcement.

  10. Pass oral interviews including but not limited to polygraph examination and other requirements not listed here.
